That’s why, in every single blog post, you’ll find helpful strategies to help you do just that. I want to help as many women as possible, no matter their budget, and that’s why every blog post packs such a punch - so I can reach as many people as possible.

you cannot be brilliant at everything all of the time
And so, here is my message to you (and it goes well beyond the housework:) you, you beautiful, overachieving, inspirational, tired woman: you cannot be brilliant at everything all of the time. Here's how to make that happen and still feel ok:
1. Do less. Make a list of all the processes in your business or home life: what absolutely HAS to be done to ensure it keeps running? Do that (and no more).
"and what is next for you Laura?"
I finished a coaching course recently, and was asked "and what is next for you Laura?"
And without thinking I replied with something like this:
"In this season of my life of nurturing and growing, I am going to continue to follow my intuition."
New moon energy
What do you think about this?
Whether or not you subscribe to the idea that our energy is dictated by the moon, on Sunday 10th March there is a new moon. This is how you might be feeling:
like you just need to let that s*** go (that's how I feel) - via a big bath and a cry (that's me), a dance in the kitchen, a run, a massive journalling session...
Cyclical living - days 1 to 7
It's also absolutely true that whilst the following patterns or observations will feel familiar to many women, others won't relate to these themes at these times. What is true for everyone, however, is that the more consistently you track (and the more you choose to value this process) the huge amount you, your body and your business will thrive.
3 points to remember this february
How are you feeling now that we’re well into the second month of the year? Have those new year’s resolutions faded, or are you thriving? Whatever your current situation, I'd like you to remember three things:
- you're not "ill-disciplined" if today/ this week you need to slowly, gently ease back into your work
how people manage to go from side hustle to main income
”So let me understand this correctly. Now we have kids our priorities have changed and you are working in this new way. And you want clients. To get clients you need time. You also need your own coach which costs money. But in order to get money you need to work. But then if you’re working you don’t have the time to get the clients.
How does anyone get their side hustle to become their main source of income?!?!?!”
To which I answered:
”I think they have to hustle a bit, my love.”
Creative coaches and their “top” advice
If you’re on more than one email list from creative coaches and mentors, you've heard everyone’s “top” advice.
A coach and mentor cannot do it for you, so invest when you're ready to put time in and make change.
And yes! That is my top piece of advice, too. I see this all the time with clients.
But that “top” advice really isn’t helpful, now is it? You know that.
That’s why today I want to share with you my second best piece of advice.
Always have an (intuitive and holistic) plan.
The sphere of influence
Now I'm out the other side, it's given me an opportunity to reflect on what is in my control and what isn't. This is where the sphere of influence is such a useful exercise (I’ve made you a very simple document to use): to establish what you might be able to influence, those things which you allow yourself to accept and move on from, and those things you might want to get excited about and start to control more actively (yes we are allowed to control things!)
What do harry potter and motherhood have in common?
Listening to this, I started to reflect on the ”splits” that motherhood and the last few years have triggered in me. I think it’s no exaggeration to say that at times there have been parts of my soul that have been deadened - whether through fear, exhaustion, financial pressure, lack of creative stimulus, lack of space…
Decide to decide
Sometimes you just have to decide to decide.
Let me expand: have you ever ummed and ahhed over a decision, pondering away until - ooh - it's the weekend, you'll think about it again on Monday?
Perhaps you've done copious research, you've listened to all the advice, you've read all the reviews, you've watched all the videos.
But actually - you sometimes just need to decide to make a choice.
Finding your purpose in your business
If you're struggling to find your purpose, working can feel so tough. When you realise that the business you're nurturing is so much more than just an income (though earning money through your own work is pretty awesome) feels so wonderful. It's a beautiful representation of your values and the way you want to show up in this season of your life.
A love letter from me to you
6 things I wanted to share with you…
I was writing some thoughts down earlier, and wanted to share them with you, albeit it in a more beautiful way than I'd originally scrawled, so here’s a love letter from me to you:
Two things I’m always asked
"How do you get everything done with three small kids and three jobs?"
The answer is...well, the truth is, I fit a lot of bits in around the edges. I often have to work in the evenings, but I certainly don't work every evening, and I make plenty of time to switch off.
Power pressure of social media
Social media has been an incredibly useful tool in helping me build awareness of and engagement with Power of Mum. I've met some brilliant people and my posts have been shared and commented on regularly.
It's also been a genuine source of anxiety, obsession and addiction. It's felt like there's been so much pressure:
What success means as a mother, wife, friend & woman
I am #busybeingabrilliantmum, creating a wonderful life for my children, keeping them alive (!), dreaming of a fabulous future for my family that I am making. I am helping my clients realise their dreams. I am making music with teenagers and helping them get excited about learning. I am learning every day. I am doing my best. I am more than enough.
That all illusive confidence, and why I don’t always have it
I am totally confident in my choices – I still have to regularly assess what confidence means to me, and if I’m on the right path for me and my family, but that comes from a place of excitement and love, not fear and negativity. I know when I work with my clients that I help them get to that point, it’s why I love my job and love working with amazing women. Confidence in all that – it’s there in abundance.
Learning how to forget yourself and live in the moment
Sometimes, we get so caught up in our own heads that we forget to simply be in the moment. But here's the deal: life is like a crazy, beautiful, messy painting, and if we're always stuck in our heads, we'll miss out on all those amazing brushstrokes.
Goal setting for small business owners and multi-passionates
Goal setting is something I find great joy in. Whilst I do love creating goals for myself, I like them to feel natural and non-pressured. I’m sharing the strategies that I use when setting goals. There’s also a chance here to reflect on goals for making money and wider enrichment goals - don’t be afraid to hold both in equal regard.
