I do have my own one of these coming, but I don’t design them for others as it’s more about SKU numbers than branding and story-telling…

Hi, I’m Laura!
Multipassionate creative, website designer, muso, teacher, mum and a very useful person to have in your corner.
I came to website design through my own slightly unconventional working life: musician, teacher, coach, writer, business owner and someone who has pivoted, flexed and followed the path of “most interesting” wherever possible.
Which turns out to be rather useful when you’re designing websites for people whose work doesn’t always fit neatly into one either.
I love the design part, obviously (why do you think I used my third maternity love to - among other things - get my coding qualifications. But I’m just as interested in the person and their story: what you’re trying to say, what you want to be known for, what needs to take centre stage now and where your work might be going next.
Sometimes you’ll just need me to build you a brilliant website. Sometimes we’ll need to untangle things first. I genuinely love both.

I use Squarespace, which I love, and code code code to make it exactly how we want it. You pay a monthly or annual amount to Squarespace directly (I can code others but I don’t love them for this kind of site…)

It’s the thing people type into the search bar, the equivalent of a home address - mine is https://lauraoldfield.com - you will almost certainly have to buy one, or if you have one we can transfer it over to Squarespace.

It depends what you give me and what level of support you need. Essentially 3 weeks for essentials, 4 weeks for signature and up to 6 weeks for the Full Works (but if you’re in a hurry tell me and I can do my best to get it done - I do love a hyperfocus).

I will train you in the basics e.g. if you want to add some gigs, speaking events or training sessions to your diary. You should feel confident about logging into your site so there will be a full handover (but lots of my clients come back for a refresh or just ask me to do it all for them, which is fine too!)

You do! You own your domain (e.g. https://lauraoldfield.com), your website itself (the visual product) and all the stuff that comes with that (the words, media, images). You will need to pay Squarespace annually or monthly to keep the website.

In the Full Works we will do a lot regarding SEO and conversion. For the other two packages I will ensure all the basics are done (meta titles, basic keywords etc), and introduce you to Google Search Console and its magic…I also know people who are brilliant at marketing…
