The sphere of influence
Reflecting on the time I got the flu.
All of a sudden I got really poorly. One minute I was flying high, the next minute my eyes stung, my body ached, and that night I was violently shaking (almost certainly flu). Whilst one of my values is body first, business second, this bug really, really pissed me off.
I was just building momentum, I had so many loose ends to tie up, and suddenly I just had to rest.
Now I'm out the other side, it's given me an opportunity to reflect on what is in my control and what isn't. This is where the sphere of influence is such a useful exercise (I’ve made you a very simple document to use): to establish what you might be able to influence, those things which you allow yourself to accept and move on from, and those things you might want to get excited about and start to control more actively (yes we are allowed to control things!) Here is the document.
Let me know what you think!
And things I learned from being poorly and spheres of control?
- I can control how much I can automate and what to automate. I want to do this more
- I can control my payment plans more effectively from clients
- I can control and influence where I want to show up online (less feeling like I'm working for Instagram, more just chatting with people on there I like)
- I can control who I see online - hence me deleting 1000 accounts I was following - it has made my Insta a happier place.
- I can track my income better (and need to use my own spreadsheets more...I also love Quickbooks.)
What can you control? Let’s discuss in the comments…
With love,
