Hello
I’m laura!
Oh my love, there’s so much I’d love to share with you.
Yes, I’m a coach, mentor and strategist for mums who are freelancers and small business owners.
Yes, I’m a singer, composer, conductor and music teacher.
Yes, I make wildly useful and beautiful products.
You can learn about every single service and product I offer, free and paid on my everything page. But here’s a chance to really get to know me.
I commissioned the magnificent Trina Dalziel to create this image to best represent my multipassionate life. Here’s why we chose each element:
Multipassionate me
Bird
I am a creative, and I am a dreamer. This bird represents how it feels to let my dreams soar. It represents how I feel when I play, sing or hear music I love. It represents the ambition and joy I have for my clients, that they too can let their ideas breathe and soar.
Dahlias
I am a passionate and lazy gardener. We are so fortunate to have a big garden, and at its best it is a blaze of colour. At its worst it is parched. My favourite flowers are dahlias because of their abundance and how they extend the season, but I wish they had scent.
Listening Leaf
I spend a lot of my time listening: to my clients, to my and others’ music, to my children, to nature, to my own thoughts. We wanted to reflect the naturalness of this with leaves, to further reflect my love of nature. Most things can be solved with a good stomp in a park or wood.
Hands
As your coach and mentor I “hold space” for you to explore your brilliant ideas. I am also extremely tactile, and if you’re happy to you’ll get cuddled by me (one of the reasons I love having three kids!) I use my hands as a creative force, and I love having my nails done!
Nest
I have three remarkable children. I think they’re incredible (and I love it when they’re not constantly asking me for snacks). I also have had three miscarriages, little stars twinkling down on us. My husband deserves a mention here: a proper co-parent who is our rock, and with whom I have pass-agg conversations about whose work needs to take priority at certain points in the year.
Suitcase
This is the space for me to fill with more wonderful ideas, projects, schemes, hobbies, dreams, children…?!
Music
Music is at the core of my creativity and of my family: my children make music (violin, piano, cello, singing), my husband is a musician, my parents are musicians, my sister and her partner… I have played the violin since I was four and now love my weekly amateur orchestra, as well as earning money from singing, composing and conducting.

About Laura Oldfield
i’m a busy mum of 3, earning good money from multiple, wonderful income streams.
Look, there’s absolutely loads going on here, and so this is quite a long page. Click on the image or title below to learn more about whichever section interests you the most. You can also learn more about absolutely everything I can offer you on the everything page!
Four essential things before we get going:
I love working with women, and mothers in particular
I live by a “and why not me"?” approach: whilst I hate failure and am prone to being a people pleaser, I’m also bolshy, determined and almost constantly optimistic, so if something comes along that I would love to do, I adopt the “and why not me?” approach. I love to see my clients realising they really are capable of brilliant things (and why not them? - with correct boundaries and rest in place…)
I am obsessive about good flat whites, and get a proper dopamine hit from sitting in a cafe with my headphones and a new coffee
There’s not much that can’t be solved with a good walk, a podcast, a big ol’ bottle of water (and the promise of a flat white at the end).
usomething here
let’s unlock your creative business potential
(without denying that you’re a person busy caring for others whilst you make it happen (waves at all the other mothers finding their way after the biggest change of their lives).
This is your home, lovely freelancer, to develop your fulfilling and varied Company of One, which brings you a sustainable and exciting income.
This is your home for exploring multiple income streams within your beautiful, creative business, for sustainable work informed by your energy, the seasons and your other commitments, and a place to delight in creativity.
This is your home to create a plan you can actually stick to, full of micro and mega steps, so you don’t get that “I don’t know what I’m doing!” sinking feeling, and so you can trust in your business goals and efforts.
I don’t always understand the expression: “showing up as your whole self" (I don’t love jargon…) rather, this is a place where we don’t apologise parts of ourselves away, and where working alongside parenting, doing the washing, being a taxi service, living a good and full life is all acknowledged.
